Greenlight Mortgage was founded by Kenneth Travis in 2008 upon the principles of integrity and providing the right loan for every borrower’s situation. After serving 8 years in the Marine Corps, Kenneth began his career in the mortgage industry with a local mortgage broker as a loan originator.
After years working for others Kenneth felt it was time to shift and create a unique brand and culture that went against the status quo and reflected his core values. As he looked at the Mortgage Industry, he saw a gap and asked himself “how can we be better, how can we be different”? Focused on speed, efficiency, technology and his entrepreneurial spirit Kenneth began building a one of a kind mortgage team.
It became obvious to Kenneth that there was a better way—the loan process and the interaction with customers at other banks and credit unions seemed rigid and restrictive, even archaic. Customer Service wasn’t prized or highly sought. It was all about jamming deals through…but everything was inefficient and impersonal. He started Greenlight Mortgage to create a company that prized customer service and one that cares about and is focused on the customer experience.
Andrew Carnegie once said, “Teamwork is the fuel that allows common people to attain uncommon results.” As a Marine Sergeant leading a platoon, Kenneth witnessed this on the daily.
